Prom Makeup

09:30

Hello!

I thought I'd do a little post about what makeup I did and used for Sixth Form Prom (it was back in July, but oh well!)

For foundation I used Rimmel London's Lasting Finish 25hr in the shade 'Ivory'. I blended this in with my Real Techniques blending sponge. I then used my Collection Concealer in the lightest shade on my blemishes and under my eyes, of which I blended in with my expert face brush and deluxe crease brush for under my eyes. I used Rimmels Clear Complexion translucent powder to set my makeup in place. Then onto one of my favorite parts... Contouring! I of course used Benefit's Hoola bronzer, which I am finally running out of after a year and a half! I used the brush it came with and then blended the product in with the Real Techniques contour brush and I then used Mac's Soft and Gentle on the tops of my cheek bones, on the bridge of my nose and on my cupid's bow - yet again using my contour brush.

After I finished my face makeup I filled in my brows with the shade 'Buck' from Urban Decay's Naked 1 palette using my Real Techniques brow brush.

Now for eyes... I watched a video on YouTube recently where they used tape to create a straight line going up towards your brow, this makes the two separate eye shadows easier to blend together and for me, it works really well and makes you look like you're fabulous at makeup, when in reality you cheated...
For my eye makeup I decided to opt for a smokey eye, I used the shades Smog, Half Baked and Creep (from Urban Decay's Naked 1 palette). I put the shade Smog all over my lid then put the tape from the outer corner of my eye upwards so I could use the darker shade - Creep (a black sparkly shade). I followed the line of the tape upwards with a small liner brush from Real Techniques and blended it across the top of my eye, whilst blending it slightly in the center of my eyelid (if that actually makes sense...) I then used Half Baked in the corner of my eyes, along my waterline and in the outer part of my eye I blended the darker shade down along the other half of my waterline.

I used Eylure lashes on the top and applied L'Oreal Million Lashes mascara on my bottom lashes.
I literally fell in love with these lashes; they are super easy to put on and the glue it came with is actually decent. You can also get so many different styles of lashes from Eylure and individual ones if you'd prefer!

I hadn't purchased more expensive falsies in the past because I was scared of them. I have tried cheaper ones in the past but I completely failed at putting them on! But after buying these lashes for Prom I couldn't get enough of them, so I purchased another pair when I next went shopping and I will be buying more soon as well! Although they're around the £5 mark, which may seem a little pricey for something you're only going to wear a few times, they are defiently worth every penny, best lashes ever.

Finally... For my lips I used the Rimmel London Kate Moss lipstick in shade 08 (of which I've spoken about a lot in previous blog posts!) I love this lipstick shade; it's so pretty & natural looking yet still noticeable.

The Finished Look!
